Thomson Reuters signs exclusive deal to publish authorised IR Commission cases
Thomson Reuters has entered into an exclusive agreement to publish the authorised decisions of the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW.
Beginning this month with the release of Volume 238, Part 1, the Industrial Reports will feature the first ever authorised cases of the Commission.
The new agreement brings additional value and oversight to the IRC’s decisions, ensuring significant cases are easier for legal professionals to find and quickly understand. With each authorised judgment being reviewed and approved by the presiding Member who handed down the decision, it is a major boost to the consistency and efficiency of industrial law practice in NSW.
"The Industrial Reports continues to grow in prominence as a highly authoritative source of reference for Judges and legal practitioners working in a range of employment and industrial law matters," said Thomson Reuters Commercial Director, Carl Olson.
"As the current publisher of the authorised decisions of the Federal Fair Work Commission, the addition of the IRC is a major coup for us, not only reinforcing our commitment to providing professionals the very best content, but exemplifying the strength of Thomson Reuters’ reputation in the market.”
The IRC is the body which arbitrates industrial disputes in NSW, sets conditions of employment and industrial awards, and decides on claims of unfair dismissal. As such, the authorisastion of its decisions is an important development for anyone employed in NSW.
