The Queensland Conveyancing and Real Property Softdocs suites were updated on 7 October 2015.

Some of changes to Lexon letters and documents in the Conveyancing suite were brought about by the replacement of Part 7 of Chapter 8 of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld) which deals with “Contaminated land”.

The relevant provisions of the amending legislation, the Environmental Protection Act Amendment Act 2014, were commenced by proclamation on 30 September 2015.

The purpose of the new Part is to “provide a simplified contaminated land framework that requires auditor certification of contaminated land investigation documents” (source: Qld Department of Environment and Heritage Protection, Policy and legislation changes, accessed 15 October 2015).
