Practical Law has published Toolkit, The Chancery Lane Project: model climate clauses, which sets out standard climate clauses that the creative legal minds involved in The Chancery Lane Project have developed to help businesses integrate environmental thinking and climate change benefits into everyday contracts and other legal documents.

The Chancery Lane Project is a collaborative body of lawyers and legal professionals that facilitates drafting events that create climate-focused model clauses for inclusion in commercial documents. Each clause is designed to help companies address a particular climate change related issue to help organisations focus on, and move closer towards, net zero.

To showcase this important initiative and encourage the use of these clauses, Practical Law has developed Toolkit, The Chancery Lane Project: model climate clauses, which provides a summary of, and a link to, each of the 71 model clauses. There are clauses for use in a wide range of legal documents, including board minutes, boilerplate clauses, supply and manufacturing agreements, employment contracts and leases.

This toolkit is a great starting point if you need to find a green or climate-focused clause to incorporate into your everyday contracts. So take a look, and join the fight to tackle climate change.
